Syd's big birthday part deux

So Sydney had a birthday last weekend. She hit the big ole two's, and had a fun time with the pinata, cake and presents galore family and friends gave her. I'll have to post some of the images later. She is a LUCKY lucky girl. Her favorite is the little kitchen her Auntie Sam couldn't resist getting her, and she's playing with it every day, moving food around, serving us hot dogs and lime and chocolate milk. mmmmm, yummy.

My mom is saying I've got to start a journal for her, but I seriously wonder about how people have the time for that, so I thought I'd get a little info on here at least and it's something, right? Well, it's a start. She's grown so much she's in size 3 clothing now, and she's loving going to the new music makers class at the church once a week. Now she sings lots of songs, or at least her own version with familiar tunes all the time! She also is starting to talk A LOT. She keeps a running commentary throughout the day on things as she learns new words. She's so much fun to be with though, her energy and curious attitude rub off on me sometimes.

Jeff started working at the Naval Shipyard last Monday, so he's on his second week now. He likes it for the most part, he's doing math 8 hours a day for now, so it's not what he'll be doing as a "job" per se, but he likes the people he works with. He is going to be studying for quite a while before they send him to their school in Norfolk, Virginia. As of now, he'll be leaving in March next year, for about 22 weeks. Once he's done with that, he gets about 12 weeks more training here and then he starts his job officially. He'll be a Physical Science Technician I believe is the title. His father and his grandfather both worked at the Shipyard, so it's a generational thing now, strange but true. The great thing is, he's got more opportunities with this position.

We're still trying to work on our house, we've been trying to refinance for quite a while now, 6 months I believe, but with the current mortgage and housing situation, it's been brought to an almost stand-still. But we're still trying to figure things out so we can be IN our home. Our lovely, lonely home.

That's about all I have time for, for now, but just a little bit about what's been happening lately with us.
